PhD position: Impact of stress on VOC exchange between crops and the atmosphere

Location: Gembloux/Bruxelles, Belgium

Application deadline: 15 August 2013

We will implement parallel studies, in both natural and controlled conditions (environmental chamber), of constitutive and stress-induced BVOC fluxes, abiotic stress agents (heat, drought, exposure to enhanced ozone concentrations, grazing or harvesting induced mechanical injury) and markers of plant metabolic status using state-of-the-art experimental techniques (eddy-covariance, GC-MS, PTR-MS).

The successful candidate will be responsible within this project for the BVOC flux measurements using dynamic enclosures in controlled growth chamber conditions and in the field.
